Conference Essentials

How do I get to Odense?

The best way to arrange your journey from your arrival airport to Odense is by using the Journey Planner at www.rejseplanen.dk.

In the Journey Planner you are able to choose between Danish, German or English in the language selecetion in the upper right corner.

Arriving at Copenhagen Airport:

When arriving in Copenhagen, the easiest way to get to Odense is by train. The train departs directly from the airport and arrives in Odense approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes later. The trains depart frequently. Everything you need, ticketing office and exit to the platforms, is available from the lobby in Terminal 3 at Copenhagen Airport.

Using the Journey Planner:
Type: From “Copenhagen Airport” to “Odense st”.

Arriving at Billund Airport:

From Billund, there is no direct means of transportation to Odense. Therefore, the journey from Billund to Odense is by both bus and train. This journey takes approximately two hours.

Using the Journey Planner:
Type: From “Billund Airport” To “Odense st”.

How do I get around in Odense?

If you choose to book your accommodation with one of the Conference Hotels, with which we’ve negotiated a discount, you’re within easy walking distance of the train station.

We recommend you take the tram:
In all likelihood, the train station and adjacent tram platform will be your hub of transportation. From here, the brand new tram departs regularly. Make sure to step on in the direction of Hjallese st., and get off at the SDU University st, which is on the Southern outskirts of Odense (don’t use the Campus Odense st, unless you want to walk an extra 500 meters).

We recommend you buy a digital ticket. You can buy tickets online at https://webshop.fynbus.dk/ or in the “FynBus Mobilbillet” app (Danish language only).

Buy a Tourist ticket 24 hours for 50 kr. or a Tourist ticket 72 hours for 125 kr. and travel all day.

Single tickets can be bought for 24 kr. and are valid for a period of 1h15min.

Physical tickets can be bought at the train station, at the FynBus Customer Centre, Dannebrogsgade 10, 5000 Odense C. And at the Academic Books booth in the Professional Exhibition at SDU Campus. Other locations that sell physical tickets can be found here: https://www.fynbus.dk/odensebillet

Taxi:
If you arrive by train in Odense, you will find the taxi hub on the north side of the train station.

If you would like to book a taxi in advance, the taxi company Taxa Syd has been informed we are hosting the LIBER conference. You can call here for a taxi:
