LIBER Announces 2022 Annual Conference in Odense, Denmark

LIBER, together with the University Library of Southern Denmark / Syddansk Universitetsbibliotek (SDU), are proud to announce that the next LIBER Annual Conference will take place in Odense from the 6th to the 8th of July 2022.

“After two successful Annual Conferences in 2020 and 2021, held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LIBER is pleased to finally return to our much anticipated, in-person Annual Conference that has been running for 50 years now,” says LIBER Executive Director, Astrid Verheusen.

“At LIBER we pride ourselves on gearing our Annual Conference to the needs and interests of our network. And to do so for the 2022 conference, we’re pleased to be working together with our co-hosts from the University Library of Southern Denmark,” continues Verheusen.

“I am thrilled that LIBER’s Annual Conference will be back in Denmark after more than 20 years and I am proud to host the event in the city of Odense, the birthplace of famous poet Hans Christian Andersen. We have incorporated his portrait in this year’s conference logo to remind ourselves of the adventure that we imagine that the physical gathering of hundreds of library people post the pandemic will be – hopefully meeting each other once again offline will feel like participating in a fairytale,” says Bertil F. Dorch, Associate Professor and Director at The University Library of Southern Denmark.

In light of the 2022 conference, the University Library of South Denmark has created a teaser video. You can view this video below:

ABOUT LIBER

LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche – Association of European Research Libraries) is the main network for research libraries in Europe. Founded in 1971, the association (a Foundation or Stichting under Dutch law from 2009) has grown steadily to include more than 400 national, university and other libraries from over 40 countries. Together we work to represent the interests of European research libraries, their universities and their researchers in several key areas. We lobby policymakers on issues such as Copyright and Open Access. We collaborate with our member libraries on European-funded projects and through events such as our Annual Conference, we create opportunities for library professionals to meet and learn from each other.
