The General Data Protection Regulation came into force in May 2018. This workshop will look at the GDPR one year on.
Much has happened in a year that as information professionals are of interest. This ranges from misuse of personal data by FaceBook and Cambridge Analytica through to moves to put in place Codes of Conduct in the areas of science, and archiving in the public interest.
This workshop is intended to look at some of the wider trends around use of personal data, as well as explore how to interpret GDPR in the context of a university and library.
