LIBER Annual Conference 2025 — Call for Proposals Now Open
The Call for Proposals for the upcoming 54th LIBER Annual Conference is now open. The deadline for submitting a proposal is the 3rd of January 2025. Submission requirements and process are outlined below.
LIBER Annual Conference 2025 Theme:
ENGAGE, COLLABORATE, INNOVATE: LIBRARIES WORKING TO ADDRESS GLOBAL CHALLENGES.
At the LIBER Annual Conference 2024, our keynote speaker Frank Scholze identified areas that concentrate critical global challenges, including those in nature, power, technology, people, and economy. These thematic areas pose many challenges that affect libraries, institutions, and societies across the globe and request the response of our scientists, researchers, and educators. At the LIBER Annual Conference 2025 in Lausanne, we want to explore ways to advance the collaboration of libraries to tackle these challenges – within their own networks and beyond.
Topics
We invite our community to submit their proposals for contribution to the LIBER 2025 conference, distilling – in an engaging way – their work on the following topics:
- Artificial Intelligence for/in/and Research Libraries
- Library Partnerships for Societal Impact
- Monitoring and Assessment of Open Research
- Sustainable Operation and Development
- Equitable and Inclusive Library Environments
- Libraries Engagement in Co-shaping Policies for All
- Upskilling for the Future
Submission Formats
LIBER 2025 invites submissions on the Conference theme and topics, comprising of any of the following content directions:
- Future-oriented, thought leadership pieces arising out of current research.
- Presentation of research-based solutions, with a clear illustration of the methods used, the ways they can be applied, and/or the results.
- Work-in-progress or pilot descriptions, sufficiently mature to warrant attention.
- Experiences, best practices, and case studies specifying requirements, challenges or opportunities.
When submitting a proposal, speakers can choose the best format for the content they intend to deliver from the list of options below:
- Standard Presentation: mature works that showcase research, best practices, and case studies, which cover the methods used and open a discussion on the theme and its topics.
- Workshop: dynamic and engaging sessions related to the overall theme and topics of the conference, providing delegates with a hands-on experience.
- Poster: visually-inspiring displays of an initiative, completed or in progress, processes, and results.
- Panel Session: lively panel sessions, consisting of brief and engaging presentations related to the theme and the topics of the conference, inviting discussion among the panellists and with the audience.
Note: For all proposals, the Conference Programme Committee may, in some cases, accept an abstract while proposing an alternative format from the initially selected one if it aligns better within the programme. In this case, the author will be consulted.
