Academic libraries are often at the crossroads of increasing their involvement in institutional research activities, primarily by improving management of research data and output, leveraging their expertise in data curation, resource management, and content dissemination. Libraries are already supporting various research activities, but are often challenged to scale up to support more researchers and demonstrate impact.
Ex Libris Esploro is a new library–led initiative launched together with a number of research universities, in order to help institutions drive a transition toward improved efficiency of managing research activities, and increasing visibility, impact and compliance of research outputs and data. Esploro enables institutions to systematically capture, manage, and disseminate research, leveraging library skills and technology, and seamlessly integrates with existing research workflows.
