Speaker(s): TBA

The University Alliance Gateways, supported by OpenAIRE CONNECT, integrate resources and tools across university networks, fostering collaboration, Open Science practices, and interdisciplinary research. This Treasure Hunt is designed to train librarians as facilitators who can introduce these platforms to their academic communities through gamified activities.

The session begins with an introduction to the concept of University Alliances and the OpenAIRE services that support them, highlighting tools for monitoring and assessing Open Research outputs, fostering equitable and inclusive library environments, and promoting sustainable development through Open Science practices. Following this, participants engage in a game-based activity to familiarize themselves with the Gateway.

Participants will complete tasks such as discovering publications, datasets, and software using advanced search functionalities and dashboards, upskilling them with future-ready digital competencies. The game also introduces strategies for guiding students to identify Erasmus supervisors and research collaborators within the platform, emphasizing the role of library partnerships in creating positive societal impact.

By mastering the Treasure Hunt format, participants will be empowered to replicate the activity in their own institutions, engaging their communities in co-shaping Open Science policies and fostering impactful collaborations. This approach not only trains participants to navigate OpenAIRE services but also equips them to serve as catalysts for Open Science and academic innovation in their networks.
